Fifty-four years ago, a quiet young man from Connecticut enrolled in Heidelberg University, totally unsure what that chapter would bring about in his life.

Through a strong culture that focused on individual empowerment, out-of-the-box educational opportunities and service learning, it didn't take long to see that Heidelberg was indeed "the real deal" and "the perfect fit" for me.

With tutelage and guidance of highly dedicated and esteemed faculty such as Rev. Bill Hobbs, Dean Robert Oleson, Dr. Paul Bock, Jim Getz, Track Coach Bob Warren, John Goshorn and others, I was able to acquire a diverse wealth of personal and professional skills that propelled me into successful career opportunities in human services and eventually radio broadcasting. This enabled me to assume leadership roles in a wide variety of service/civic organizations including Rotary, Chamber of Commerce, Red Cross, United Way and others.

There is no question in my mind that my post Berg days would not have taken such a rewarding journey of positive experiences had it not been for Heidelberg University, and I am forever grateful.
